The Log – December 8, 2015

Rotary Club of Essex Log
December 8, 2015

Tonight’s Meeting was opened and presided over by our president Jordan Welles.

Last week Dec 1 we had our Annual Holiday Party and a celebration for the club’s 60th anniversary at the Copper Beach. Several former members were on hand including Pete Webster. Many thanks to Alison Brinkmann and Matt Carr for all of their behind the scenes efforts in making this program a great success.

Congratulations to Alison, our newest Paul Harris Fellow, in recognition for all that she has done for our club and other work she does in the community

On Thanksgiving day Jordan Welles and Dr. Tim Tobin delivered 16 Thanksgiving dinners, and several pies, to the residents at Essex Court. In their usual fashion, the pies were already cut into before we even finished delivering the meals. All the residents were appreciative of our gesture and we received a nice thank you note signed by all the residents.

Sergeant at Arms:

Larry Schaffer filled in for Matt Carr today Although there was no raffle and no fines were levied, lots of Happy Dollars were collected .

Program:

We did not have a formal speaker tonight, Jordan used this time to brain storm over future projects and fund raisers. It was recognized that the Shad Bake is still our most important fund raiser and much discussion revolved around making it stronger, including recruitment of local sponsors.
